Sound Of Freedom- Movie
Over the Fourth of July, the movie Sound of Freedom starring Jim Caviezel was released. I have been hearing about this movie for a while and yet I don’t know if I have the courage to go see it. The content is super challenging, exposing the world of slavery in ways that we know are there but it’s very hard to open our minds and hearts to comprehend how expansive the problem is.
Slavery is wrong. It always has been, and it always will be. We can’t change the past, but we can learn from it and do better. I do believe the time to respond is now. Let’s open our eyes to the hidden world of child trafficking.
This mama’s heart struggles with the details. And yet I don’t have to know the details in order to try to make a difference. If you are like me and have a hard time witnessing that challenging dialogue, I believe there are still things that we can do to help .
So I’m spending time watching soundbites of the content, interviews of the characters, and donating to places like A21, founded by Christine Cane, to help the people who have been called to fight this battle.
This morning, as I was listening to an interview with Tim Ballard, who is the main character, in the story of which the movie is based, I learned many things about the miracles occurring to help rescue these innocent children.
One that really stood out to me, was why he was asked to join the Department of Homeland Security that is working to expose the evil spaces of child trafficking. He was told that the reason he was asked was because it is so violent and disturbing that only people who practice a faith can handle it.
Wow!
The entities who are fighting this battle are not known for their dependance on a Higher Power as a whole. People within the system may practice a faith individually for obvious reasons but this intention of choosing people who know and rely on God is fascinating.
These courageous people have chosen to defend and protect us, and yet it is very clear to decision makers that this evil space needs God’s power for the people who work within it. I imagine some people who didn’t practice a faith probably have tried to help and they just didn’t have the strength or the capacity. And so it takes something supernatural to expose this beast, in terrifying places of poverty, places of corrupt politicians, heartless terrorism, and places that have no respect for human life, especially for the people trying to expose the truth and rescue these children.
The people who are risking everything to save Gods children, fighting for this cause, need our support. Most importantly, they need our prayers. Their families need our prayers. God’s beautiful children need our prayers. If we have the means to support them financially, please consider it and don’t be afraid to expand your knowledge to the extent that your heart can take, in order to ignite our actions to help in whatever way we are called to help. Watch the movie in the theater if you are able.
If you ever wished that those people who built their livelihood on slavery in early America would have understood the harm, they have caused to generations of humans that continue to suffer today, God may be urging you to help stop this current madness! I can’t even imagine how upset he is about what’s happening to his children…He tells us…it would be better to have a great millstone hung around their neck and be thrown into the sea.
He never has and never will accept the unacceptable for human benefit.
Our battle is not against flesh and bones, it is against the powers of darkness.
Please God expose the darkness, protect your boots on the ground, and free every child from this evil entity!
