God has no Grandchildren

That proclamation was made in a documentary made about Lee Strobel’s The Case for Heaven.

The only way we can know our Creator personally is with a direct relationship with him, like that of a parent…

How do we do that? By learning the truth of who God is… Jesus came to tell us of his Father… He personalized God in a way that people in the Old Testament did not have access to…Jesus came to describe God as Father but not in a human way, in a way of divinity. No father or mother on earth will be perfect. Hopefully they do represent the love of God, but all fall short, and some have given examples of quite the opposite. Many people have been so hurt by the parents who were chosen to love them that it is incredibly challenging to define a Loving and Merciful, Father God.

During Covid I began listening to songs on YouTube about God as Father…

Run to The Father

Father, I want you to hold me

The God Who Sees

Holding On to You

Jireh

These songs helped grow my understanding of a Divine, Loving, Merciful God. When my mind moves into the Presence of God the Father, the Creator, I am filled with Awe…

You have most probably done this as well…

Imagine...

An incredible, vibrant sunset on the way home from a hard day

A song delivered by an orchestra that vibrated deep in your soul

A giant, grand, gentle peaceful mountain

The power of the ocean with its beauty and mystery and relaxing energy

An angelic voice of a vocalist that causes you to pause and listen to that song again and again

The fragrance that fills the room and takes you to Christmas memories

A soothing cup of coffee along with an authentic conversation with a trusting friend

The book I’m currently reading is called Awe… the author, Paul David Tripp believes our world is suffering from AWN, awe wrongedness. He’s on to something…

Just imagine if we couldn’t experience any of the above-mentioned experiences… the big ones… the ones that make you stop what you're doing and take notice…

Could we still understand God is his aweness?

We can see it every day in the simple things.

The softness and innocence of a newborn baby

The color and randomness of a field of wildflowers

Being noticed by a stranger when feeling lonely

The love projected by a dog or cat or horse or pet

The red, blue, yellow, orange, green of birds that come seeking food

A surprise phone call from an old friend and time allows you to answer it

An unexpected gift that reveals someone cares

The stress escaping warmth and soothing experience at a campfire

A heartfelt smile

The flicker of a candle

Quality time with family

God is everywhere…He’s waiting to be seen…He’s calling us…The Father wants every single human to come home and feast at His table… a banquet with the tastiest food our minds can imagine. A place filled with vibrant lights and dynamic flowers and inviting decorations that go beyond our most precious memories of perfect receptions…

His loving arms are waiting to embrace us in a hug that represents love like we cannot truly comprehend here on earth…

What is keeping us blinded from the Awe that sits under our noses?

… in our homes, in our families, in our yards, in our neighborhoods…

We will need to do some spring cleaning, washing the windows of our minds to clean up the muck that gathered during the winter season… the grime that is blocking our view.

Let’s remove the dirt that keeps us from seeing clearly…

The distractions

The division

The competition

The comparison

The voice that tells us we aren't enough

Our Father does not believe any of it and neither should we.  It’s time to scrub off the lies!

With each layer that we tidy up, the Awe of God will shine through. The glass panes with become sunny and sparkling with light. Depending on how often we clean our windows, will reflect how clearly, we will be able to witness the Awe and beauty of this incredible world. One that God our Creator has given to us to enjoy.

One wipe at a time…
